Michael Eisner, former Disney CEO and Founder of The Tornante Company, was the Keynote Speaker of the Digital Hollywood, Variety Entertainment and Technology Summit at the Lowes Hotel in Santa Monica. The moderator for the keynote was David Cohen who had prepared great questions for Michael Eisner that created captivating answers. Neil Stiles, Variety President started the morning off with a nice welcome and introduction for all attendees. Michael Kassan, CEO of MediaLink, was the moderator of the first panel called, Branded Content and the Evolution of the 30-second Spot. Social Media was the buzz phrase on most of the discussions today and of course the expected launch of, FameTown, a social game for Facebook modeled after Zynga’s Farmville or Mafia Wars but with one exception, you become a Hollywood player and produce movies instead of building a farm. One of the other hot topics that Michael Eisner mentioned was the acquisition of TOPPS and a new movie in the works called “Bazooka Joe“
