CELEBS GATHER TO SUPPORT RECENTLY BANKRUPT LEADING ARTS ORGANIZATION
Gen Art Hosts “Resurrection Benefit” to Repay Talent on November 4th
WHAT: The Gen Art Foundation is hosting what may be the last Gen Art experience in your lifetime. The genesis of the event is to raise funds to pay back a group of emerging independent filmmakers and fashion designers who suffered economic collateral damage when the company shuttered in early May. After 15 years and over 1,000 events supporting and showcasing emerging talent, the organization which helped discover names such as designers Zac Posen and Vena Cava, artists Ryan McGuiness and Will Cotton, filmmakers Brad Anderson and Tim Blake Nelson, and introduced actors such as Adrian Grenier, Zach Braff and most recently Rooney Mara – has not produced an event in 6 months since it became insolvent due to the ongoing economic recession, and entered bankruptcy protection. The Benefit will feature a whirlwind of multi-media content including a live fashion shoot/presentation on the center stage presenting the latest custom leather ware from Jordan Betten of Lost Art (who dressers rockers from Lenny Kravitz to Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler), 5 emerging photographers including Miles Ladin, Arturo, Sam Bassett, Stephen Meierding, and Michael Weintrob, the sounds of DJ Reach, and of course, its universally known and welcomed sponsored bar.
