Best Western Countryside Inn, Lodi Wisconsin
Our beloved film, The Mourning Hour, was shot in the beautiful state of Wisconsin. However, our principal cast and crew is from Los Angeles, and so we flew half-way across the country for a six day shoot in Baraboo and Arlington, Wisconsin. Shooting a film out of one’s home state has inherent challenges, and can put a tremendous strain on the budget. The communities of rural Wisconsin brought new meaning to the words support and generosity, making our experience while filming a true delight. An example of this generosity came while shooting in Arlington, at Prairie Splendor Bed & Breakfast. For three days, we received complimentary lodging courtesy of Best Western Countryside Inn, located in the neighboring town of Lodi. The hotel owner and incredible management team provided 16 rooms and Continental Breakfast for our entire cast and crew – a total of 26 people. The rooms were impeccably clean, furnished with such ammenities as a microwave, refrigerator and TV, the bathrooms spacious and the beds incredibly comfortable. We could not have asked for a nicer reprieve from the long, arduous days on set.
Thank you Best Western!
