SupperKing and Creative Visions Foundation Join Forces to Promote Social Dining for Charitable Causes
Los Angeles Startup Expands Peer-to-Peer In-Home Dining Experience to Nonprofits
LOS ANGELES—December 18, 2012—SupperKing, a peer-to-peer in-home dining platform, today announced its partnership with Creative Visions Foundation, an incubator and academy that inspires the use of media and the arts for positive social change around the globe. With the launch of this partnership, SupperKing introduces new functionality to its platform whereby organizations can raise money for charity by creating and hosting community dining events.
"SupperKing is very excited about this partnership because it allows us to explore new ways in which we can make a positive impact at the community level,” said Jack Warren, chief marketing officer, SupperKing. “At SupperKing, we are committed to being socially responsible, and by establishing a relationship with the Creative Visions Foundation community, we gain a deeper understanding in how community activists use our platform to create crowd-funded events that generate funding for their causes."
SupperKing is the first mobile app that enables people to gather with friends and neighbors in their homes for a new delicious and friendly social dining experience. With this added new functionality, SupperKing enables individuals and organizations alike to raise money for a charitable cause. By empowering individuals to display their culinary skills, share their dinner table, or find a home-cooked meal in their neighborhood, SupperKing is transforming the typical solitary dining experience and encouraging citizens to share resources and build community.
"SupperKing mirrors our own commitment to nurturing community to ignite social change," said Trevor Hall, President, Creative Visions Foundation. "With SupperKing, we’ve brought together our community of creative activists and social influencers to share a meal, exchange ideas, and support the work of CVF. SupperKing’s concept is ideal for organizations like us who want to crowd-fund charitable causes."
Creative Visions Foundation provides tools, mentorship, resources and linked community to help activists harness the power of media, arts and technology to solve global problems in the areas of human rights, environment, youth and education, woman empowerment and global consciousness.
SupperKing allows people to share home-cooked meals with a trusted community of neighbors and friends through the first intuitive, location-based mobile app that empowers people to host and meet up for delicious and friendly dining experiences. By sharing food and company through SupperKing, communities can join around similar interests, share recipes, make new friends, minimize food waste and create an entirely new dining economy. The beta SupperKing iPhone app is currently available, initially focusing on building San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles SupperKing communities.
