Sydneysider Performs in Hilarious Comedy

She’s smart, beautiful, talented and hilarious! Melanie Ward has just signed on to play a supporting role in Australian comedy movie Drunk directed by well-known director, Pete Cameron.
The highly anticipated movie is set to begin filming in June and rumoured to be showcasing much of Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. Director Pete Cameron has stated the film “is about main character, Bryan who is struggling to get over his latest relationship and his mates are determined to get him back in the saddle again, whether he likes it or not!” It also examines Australia’s drinking and night life culture.
Cronulla local, Melanie has just finished filming horror film, “Red Rabbit Lodge” and is excited about the new acting venture. She states: “Comedy acting is by far my favourite genre, so I’m incredibly enthusiastic about this new role. I’m a huge fan of Pete Cameron’s previous work and I’m honoured to be cast in this film.”
However, this is not Melanie’s first time doing comedy. Her comedic abilities have shown throughout her career. In particular, her amazing performance in ABC’s AZIO: The Bogan Spy Agency proved to the Australian public that she should never been underestimated. Her creativity and flexibility among a variety of TV/film genre is incredible.
Among the other notable Australian actors cast in the film are Clayton Moss, Nick Wright and Laura Benson.
The film is set for release next year.
