PRODUCTION DESIGNER AYAKA KURAMOTO SHOWCASES HER SKILLS IN “WILD FLOWER”
Based on the tragic and true story of the Blessed Zdenka Schellingova, the short period piece “Wild Flower” was the official selection at the Evolution International Film Festival in 2013, and the LA Femme International Film Festivals in 2012.
Working with director Vlad Feier and producer Kika Cicmanec, production designer Ayaka Kuramoto brings the set of Slovakia’s Communist regime in the 1940s and 50s to life before our eyes. It’s clear Kuramoto did her work before creating the sets and props for this short drama.
In just seventeen minutes, the story of Sister Zdenka makes us rethink the choices and morals we have made and hold in our own lives. Starring Kika Cicmanec, Blago Simon, and Flaviu Pop “Wild Flower” is a period piece not be missed, especially since the expert touch of Kuramoto helps to bring forth the brilliant acting, writing, and plot of Sister Zdenka’s story.
