Creating a web site is pretty complicated so it is highly likely that you’ll have to hire a digital designer to do the job for you. But, it’s not only the point in hiring one – the point is in hiring a good one! It is recommendable to always look at a portfolio of someone’s work before hiring them, and remember that you usually get what you pay for. So, go on the extra mile here and you’ll be more than happy with results after a prominent designer creates your web site.
2. Use first person narrative
Unless you are a huge star, it’s simply weird to write your news or site updates in the third person. Since it’s your site, people expect to hear from you and not someone that’s speaking for you. Other than that, it would be hard for people to relate to you when they are reading things about you in third person. So, make sure to avoid the use of third person and your website will have a more natural look.
3. Be humble
As you can imagine, it is incredibly annoying to read actors’ bios peppered with cheesy self-importance. For example, “With his incredible work ethic and talent, Brad is on the rise to becoming Hollywood’s next big hit!” Much better tactic would be to think a little bit like a journalist and stick to facts. What are your credits? Hobbies? Feel free to be funny as much as you wish, just not egotistical.
4. Make it flashy
This is one of the most important things to include. Make sure your homepage is flashy, stylish and full of features. It’s a good idea to make it a little bit like those online gaming sites such as Fabulous bingo with all those flashy images, links and promotional content that’s usually an unavoidable part of those online gaming sites. It would make your site very noticeable and appealing to explore with all these flashy images and links popping up.
5. Update it regularly
It’s of crucial importance to update your web site regularly since people are expecting new updates every now and then. Share your personal pictures, recent experiences or funny behind the scenes clips with your audience. They will appreciate it and probably grow fond of you even more! An outdated website is worse than any website at all so make sure to include paying visits and updating into your weekly schedule.
6. Include promotional or behind the scenes pictures
This is probably one of the best things when following an actor. Getting to see all behind the scenes pictures, video clips and shots directly from the set. It makes an actor more real and not just someone who’s standing behind the camera. Just posting headshots can become boring, so make sure to post all the funny pictures from the set, press conferences or charity events. Ok, here we are. Social media is incredibly powerful tool nowadays and it’s great for promotional purposes, especially for celebrities. Make sure to include your Facebook fan page as well as Twitter so your fans can follow you there and get to know all the latest scoop. It’s also a great idea to encourage people to sign up for your email newsletter (if you have one). However, having social media links on your site isn’t the only important thing – even more important is where you place them.
