IN NEED OF YOUR SUPPORTIN LAPLACE, LA
CAN-DO.ORG IS ON THE GROUND DEVELOPING
A COMMUNITY REVITALIZATION CENTER (CRC).

OUR INTENTION:
* To implement this CRC concept in LaPlace for those returning to their homes and businesses to begin the recovery process. Each CRC will be designed to fit the needs of the community by providing not only the basic essentials i.e. food, water, cleaning supplies, etc. but will be a common place for the community to heal together.
OUR GOAL:
* To assist the minimum of 3,000 – 5,000 citizens of LaPlace who have been overlooked due to the lack of media coverage in the recovery process, following the devastation and destruction of Hurricane Isaac.
The CAN-DO team will be joined by Jabari Greer and several other new Orleans Saints players to help with the distribution process. In addition to distributing supplies, the Saints players will be signing autographs and offering support to lift sprits in the community.
CAN-DO’s network of volunteers collaborate with local individuals and organizations to help develop innovative methods to speed aid to the communities where it is needed, cutting through the red tape and other obstacles in effective disaster relief, unlike other major NGOs. In Klein’s usual, unorthodox fashion, CAN-DO will also be providing amenities not found at your average distribution center. Services such as, a place to wash clothes, events for the kids, live music, local celebrity athlete volunteers, and so on.
CAN-DO Founder, Eric Klein’s implementation of CRC’s have been followed as a blueprint in Mississippi since the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. Furthermore, Klein’s CRC’s have received the support of Mississippi Governor, Haley Barbour during Katrina, and were passed through the offices of President Clinton, FEMA, MEMA, as well as heads of federal, state and local agencies throughout the Gulf Coast and Washington, D.C.
CAN-DOis offering a front row seat to watch the progress and success of the CRC’s via VirtualVolunteer.TV (VV.tv). VV.tv is the first interactive website to enable individuals, donors, corporations, and organizations to participate virtually in live humanitarian projects and critical disaster and recovery zones. Participants can view videos, see live streaming footage of how their donations are directly impacting the communities and even chat with individuals whose lives they have touched.
CAN-DO is accepting donations as well as financial contributions. Thus far we have received 3,000+ Preparedness Backpack Kits from the Karma Foundation, 1,000 solar lights from LumiAid and generous support from local vendors.
