Wanna see the hottest, edgiest, comedy show in town? Whores On Sunday at The Comedy Store Sponsored by Hustler Hollywood
So we were perusing The LA Weekly looking to see what trouble we could get into on a Sunday Night – and came across – a comedy show called “Whores on Sunday” at The Comedy Store; a night of comedy, burlesque and magic with Comedy Central’s Camille Solari & Adam Barnhardt. So we decided what better night to hit The World Famous Comedy Store than on a Sunday Night where there is FREE PARKING. We were greeted by a gorgeous door girl, and given a hot gift bag from Hustler Hollywood full of awesome treats, a groovy book, a little red spanking whip to either have fun with (at least fan you off on a hot day) products from Wet, Screaming O, Blow Paste, little cards, and dice and all sorts of cute nick-knacks. Other sponsors included Tony Batman’s Planet Platypus radio show as well as The World Famous Comedy Store. The room was standing room only, burlesque music blasted from the speakers making it feel like a 1940’s speak easy, with the red candles, Chinatown lighting, the only thing missing was cigar smoke and Christina Aguilera & Cher having a tiff in the green room. The show opened with emcee Adam Barnhardt (Polyshore is Dead) who was dynamic and entertaining and really grabbed the audience, a total original act that integrated jokes accompanied by keyboard music and sound effects. Then the show really got cooking with a hot burlesque act by Lolitas Burlesque, retro-kith-fun-sexy, they were fantastic.
The show had performances by French Comedian Phillipe Simon dirty – funny – great, Bostonian comic Janelle Draper, Aidan Park the asian rapstar, Lexi Shoemacker rye and endearing, magic act by throw back Jimmy Palombi, and headlining was Camille Solari (The star of Oxygen Networks Funny Girls, Comedy Central). Camille wowed the audience with her unique perspective on passive aggressive people, and tips on how to be glamorous though feeling fat, and an interesting perspective on flip homeless people. Other celebrity drop ins included the legendary Mark Maron, and other Comedy Store drop ins included Whitney Cummings, Sarah Silverman, Chris D’Elia, Bobby Lee, and Emmy award winning comedian Louis C.K. amongst other recognizable names. If you’re looking for something to do to wrap up a great weekend, or need to get out on Sunday, we highly recommend you give Whores On Sunday a visit; the last Sunday of the month all guests receive gift bags from Hustler Hollywood! It’s a crazy fun show and the best show I’ve seen at The Comedy Store in years.
