Los Angeles set to welcome world class dancer Taylor Seage
Please introduce yourself to the readers:
My name is Taylor Seage I am 23 years old and I am a dancer from Brisbane, Australia.
When did you first get into performing and dance?
I danced for a short period of time when I was 12 because my sister Monique danced. But I loved sports too much and only lasted a year. Although I did take up acting and was quite successful, It wasn’t until I was about 15, I took a big interest in breakdancing so I started taking classes. But Dancing and performing were in my life from a very young age.
What inspired you growing up?
I think the movie You Got Served and Honey were definitely huge inspirations for dancing! Along with MJ of course! and acting wise, my inspirations were definitely Jim Carey and Mike Myers.
What has been your favorite role or character to play so far?
Being in the Feature film San Andreas last year, was probably my favorite acting role. I played a police officer and just being a part of a Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson film was very special. Dancing would have to be my first contact on Carnival Cruise Lines. I got to do a few solos and duos with some great dancers also. That was super exciting and challenging.
What has been your biggest achievement/award so far in your career?
My biggest achievement would have to be working for world famous Nickelodeon. I worked for 7 months out of New York with a Team of 6 other dancers and myself, being the face of the brand hosting and dancing in the shows. It was aboard the highly distinguished company Norwegian Cruise Lines. I loved my time there and it was a great achievement thus far.
What projects do you have coming up?
I flew to Las Vegas, in November of 2014 and auditioned as a dancer in one of, if not the biggest magic shows out here. I also have been offered a role in a professional play at the Powerhouse in Brisbane, I can’t say too much about this, but it’s definitely a passion project that I would love to be a part of!
Who would you most love to work alongside and why?
I would love to work alongside someone like Zac Efron. Zac has had an amazing career in acting but has also put time into dance giving him a huge edge. I think I would learn a lot from him and in general, I think we would be buddies haha. And I would love to tour with Justin Timberlake! He is an incredible artist and has a solid understanding of dancing as well.
What are your plans for the future?
I am relocating to the U.S to continue to pursue a career in dance! I would love to work for artists such as Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Ariana Grande etc. And I will also be taking acting classes regularly to become as knowledgeable as I can, so I can one day, transition into that world.
What would your advice be to aspiring performers?
My advice for any aspiring performers would be: set your goals high and never let anyone tell you that you can’t achieve them! If you truly believe you can achieve your dreams and goals, you then can create steps towards them. Hard work and sacrifice are two deal breakers I believe! If you can master those then you will go a long way!
